Safety training
Staff are offered the opportunity to attend a basic first aid course.
The course is intended for anyone who wants to practise the fundamentals of resuscitation and learn how to use the defibrillators now available in all school buildings. A useful course for everyone.
Essential first aid skills will be taught, including basic resuscitation, dressing of wounds, splinting of fractures, responses to hypothermia, and more. The course will also cover how to respond to acute illness.
The course will place particular emphasis on how to manage emergencies during field trips, where help may take some time to arrive, and what to do while waiting for assistance.
Introductory course for those who intend to work in laboratories.
A useful overview course intended for those starting laboratory work for the first time, but also suitable for those who would like to refresh some basic principles.
The course will cover cooperation, responsibility, working practices, safety equipment, handling of hazardous waste, and other relevant topics.
Námskeiðið er ætlað fólki sem vinnur á rannsóknarstofum þar sem geislavirk efni eru meðhöndluð. Þetta er yfirlitsnámskeið þar sem fjallað er um mismunandi uppsprettur geislunar, grundvallarreglur geislavarna, ábyrgð, vinnubrögð og fleira.
Námskeiðið er einnig gagnlegt fyrir aðra, t.d. notendur röntgentækja til efnagreiningar (XRF) og geislavirkra efna (starfsemi í flokki C, geislalindir í hættuflokki 4-5).

The course will cover the use of checklists, risk matrices, work environment indicators, and other practical tools that support a systematic and documented risk assessment process.
The course is suitable for those who want to carry out a systematic and written risk assessment of their own work area and gain a clear and practical insight into the process.
